Project Search: Luke Air Force Base

Project SEARCH is an international program model empowering young adults with significant disabilities to make a successful transition from school to adult life. Participants will be taught relevant, marketable skills while immersed in the working world. Project Search - Luke Air Force Base provides young people with disabilities comprehensive training in a variety of opportunities coupled with quality unpaid internships for hands-on training and career exploration. West-MEC staff deliver general employability curricula during the morning classroom; instruction is reinforced as interns acquire employability and competitive work skills through rotation assignments. The program takes place entirely within Luke Air Force Base facility. Interns receive support, as needed, in their rotations. The goal for each intern upon completion of the program is competitive employment in the community.
